December 27th, 2007- An alarm of fire was transmitted for Box 285, 294 Powell Ave at 0137 hrs. Upon arrival companies found a 2 story 2 family wood frame building with heavy fire venting from the second floor windows. Engine 1 Stretched a 1 3/4" line to the second floor while Truck 1 accessed the roof via ground ladders for ventilation. Engine 3 stretched an 1 3/4" line to the roof to protect the Truck.. A second alarm was transmitted shortly after the arrival of Car 4 bringing in Engine 10, a mutual aid engine and a FAST team to the scene. Due to extension in many hidden voids, this fire required extensive overhaul. The fire was Extinguished and companies took up at 0631 hrs .
