January 15, 2008- An alarm of fire was transmitted for Box 261 at 143 Johnston St at 1313 hrs. Upon arrival companies found smoke comming from the basment of the building. Engine 1 stretched an 1 3/4" line through an exterior door into the fire room. Another 1 3/4" line was stretched to the first floor to protect the interior stairwell. A second alarm was transmitted at 1319 hrs. Engine and Truck 10 covered the city. The fire was contained to the apartment of origin. Companies took up at 1448 hrs.
