February 6, 2008- An alarm of fire was transmitted for Box 147 at 68 Henry Ave at 1434 hrs. Upon arrival Companies found heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor of a two story, 25' X 40' ordinary. Upon arrival of Car 4 a second alarm was immediately transmitted, bringing in Engine 10, Truck 10, Orange Lake, Vails Gate, and Stewart FD with a FAST team to the scene.
Engine 1 Stretched a 2 1/2" line through the interior stairs, a back up 1 3/4" was stretched by Engine 3. Truck 1 made a quick search then went to the roof to vent. The main body of fire was knocked down, with fire still in the cock loft. Heavy overhaul was required due to many hidden pockets of fire still burning. A total of 1 2 1/2"and 3 1 3/4" were stretched and operated. Mutual Aid from New Windsor and Cornwall covered the city while companies operated.
